Product Description
Summary
The Bleyer Charleston is a high quality, classic spectator shoe with brogue detail added to the trim and the saddle, making it a very stylish shoe. It was the first Bleyer swing shoe with a heel and has since set a trend. The popular white poro (synthetic) soles have been specially formulated to enhance your dancing experience. It gives a more sure-footed feel than leather, which makes it a better option for most social dancers (unless you are intent on attempting extravegant slides and spins - in which case the Bleyer Charleston with leather sole is available under a separate listing).
Colours Available
Bleyer Charlestons with a poro sole are offered in black & white or all black.
How The Shoes Fit Including Notes about the Width
The shoes themselves are fitted on the Mens last and so they are one of the widest fitting Bleyer shoes. They fit similar to the Bleyer Balboa and wider than shoes produced on unisex lasts such as the Bleyer Rock'n'Roll and Bleyer Boogie Woogie. Bleyer Charleston are available as standard in Bleyer size 36 to 50 (covering UK 3 to 12). Bleyer shoes are marked with European sizes and they tend to fit approximately one size small compared to typical European sizes. So, for example if you normally wear a European 38 you would probably want a Bleyer 39.
As we are a UK based site, UK sizes are listed first in our drop-down options. We have used our experience to translate the Bleyer sizes to UK sizes. This means that there are half sizes in some, but not all, UK sizes. This is simply as a result of the translations, so if your feet are a half size that is not listed, we would normally suggest that you select the next half size up. If you’re still not sure which size to select please call or email for advice. Although we are confident that these translations work for most people, this information is not a guarantee and should be used as a guide only.
About The Uppers
The Bleyer Charleston is a high quality, lace-up, spectator men’s shoe with all matt leather uppers and leather lining. There is a fitted insole for extra comfort whilst dancing.
About The Soles
The soles are a white synthetic material. Although not as slippy as leather or well-used suede soles, it is arguably the Bleyer composite that allows the most freedom of movement across the dancefloor.
